CRYING FOR THE LORD
I attend or try to attend church on a regular basis. I almost always find myself crying, not hard sobbing, but shedding tears. I do it so often that I now carry tissue with me in my bible cover. When I hear gospel music it touches me so, that tears fall at a steady stream. My eyes are red and glassy when this happens. I have no control over this and begin to wonder why this was happening to me and if it happens to other people. I havesat and reflected my feelings, some of it is Joy and happiness, peace is certainly a feeling, but I found mostly sadness that there are so many people that don't know God and are lost. I wanted people to know him and not feel like the world was falling down on them. That they had no idea the peace in your soul knowing God and the feeling of love and salvation that comes from knowing our Lord. As many devoted christians that feel that feeling that words cant describe want others to feel it too. That know that no matter how bad things are or all the bad things that go on in this world we are all going to be just fine if you just let our Savior in your heart.
I couldn't understand why I was having such a strong emotion. I know when you turn yourself over to God and are reborn, God gives a gift of being filled with Holy Spirit to guide and teach us, the Holy Spirit gives each of us different gifts, like speaking in tongues, teaching the word of God and so forth. So to have that much compassion for the people who really don't know our Lord really saddens me. So how sad our Lord must be that his children are living lost in this world, and may never really know him or meet him one day. That breaks my heart.
Imagine if your child is doing bad things such as drugs, stealing and lying to you. How would that make you feel? Sad, worried, and could even make you depressed because that would be all you thought about. You try so hard to lead your child back to the right road and they just keep resisting your help and they don't see what you are doing for them is out of love for them.
Wouldn't that be much like how God feels about his children, but he doesn't have just one or two he has the whole world.

I read about a weeping prophet named Jeremiah, how he found himself surrounded by human wickedness, and deploring conditions of his people who knew better, but lived in soul destructing ways anyway. They had willfully turned away from God, instead of turning to God they went into a downward spiral of self- destruction. They had turned into a weak nation, soon the eradicated by a greater power.
In Jeremiah 9:1-2 , he pretty much says those who were once strong believers in God are now weak and are going to be destroyed and his wish was to run from those who have no morals.
If you read on several more verses, He cries everywhere I seek the truth I hear lies, I look for faithfulness and I find unfaithfulness I look for people who are gentle, meek, kind and encouraging and I find betrayal, corruption, murder, and aggression. I look in vain to find things that are like God, and now suffering tribulation is the foundation.
Reading the book of Jeremiah, helped me to understand why I felt the way I felt when worshiping God our Savior.
Some say you weep because of the Holy Spirit, some say not. I say it's surely the works of the Holy Spirit, for he knows what God wants for you.
If you experience anything like this you are not alone there are many who share this with you, We all need to understand why and what God has in store for you. God has a plan for each of us and to reach where he wants us to be we need to go through everything in between to understand how we got there.
He is a Great God who loves us, and sometimes needs us to work for him.
So next time you shed a tear, just think how many more tears Jeremiah shed and how many more than that our Lord sheds for his children
John 3:16 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son and whoever believes shall not perish but have everlasting life.
